Hotel’s Challenge

The Doubletree Guest Suites Anaheim is a full service hotel located in the heart of Anaheim, adjacent to the Anaheim Convention Center, and 1½ blocks from Disneyland® Resort and Disney's California Adventure® Park. With 251 rooms, including 202 suites and 7,500 square feet of event space, the hotel needed to market itself for both leisure and convention travelers as well as for meetings and events. The hotel has a great location, and there is a lot of competition in the market.

Existing Website Evaluation

The hotel was relying on their brand.com site for their complete internet presence. Evaluating the current site showed strong performance for branded terms but that the brand.com site was not being fully optimized for local and regional factors.           

Milestone Strategy

Milestone worked very closely with the customer on identifying key segments that the hotel should be promoted for and designed custom landing pages for their brand.com site based on Things to Do In Anaheim, Local Anaheim Attractions, Weddings, Religious Retreats, and Youth/Sports Tours. The content on the site was rewritten and optimized, keeping in mind the usability, relevancy and the target clientele for the property.

Results

  • Hotel has seen a 59 percent increase in revenue generated from search engine traffic in the first six months of the year.
  • These reservations do not include the phone reservations, which are typically 3-7 times the amount of reservations received on the internet.
  • The hotel has made its initial return on investment within the first three months since the site has gone live.
  • The website is ranking high in organic searches for most search engines for its target segments.
